CPR refresher training with Ready Vet Go
Just like in human medicine, veterinary teams need to perform CPR and regularly refresh their knowledge and skills as guidelines and recommendations continue to evolve. It is also an area of Veterinary medicine that is high stress and requires important and cohesive teamwork.
CPR refresher training with Ready Vet Go
Recently, our team had the pleasure of welcoming Ready Vet Go to the clinic for a CPR refresher training session. In this session, the owner of Ready vet Go came in and conducted a thorough information session, about the basics of CPR and revival tactics as well as some great, updated knowledge on the use of emergency medications.
Ready Vet Go is Melbourne’s mobile emergency pet ambulance service, providing emergency veterinary assessments, treatment and stabilisation in the comfort of your home. Their fully equipped ambulance includes an onboard emergency pharmacy, and they also provide seamless patient transport for ongoing care at emergency and referral hospitals either from home or directly from a General Practice veterinary clinic.
Our training session began with a theory component, where the team refreshed their knowledge of the latest RECOVER CPR guidelines and protocols. We then put our knowledge into practice with a simulated emergency scenario, working together as a team to assess the situation and perform CPR on a pretend patient built for this specific training.
It was a fantastic opportunity to refresh our emergency skills, practice communication and teamwork under pressure, and build confidence in responding to a critical situation.
A huge thank you to the Ready Vet Go team for joining us and providing such a valuable, practical and hands-on training experience!
