Lisa gets cancerous lumps removed

Lisa the rat arrived at our clinic to see Dr Alex as her parents had noticed some lumps on her abdomen. After an examination, Dr Alex suspected that the lumps were mammary cancer. It was decided that radiographs would be performed to diagnose what the lumps were and to make sure that there were no other growths.

Bunny Byron gets a dental

Byron is a sweet little dwarf lop eared rabbit who was visited us with slight wetness and drooling around his chin which had been present for about seven days. On further examination Dr Belinda Willis suspected a dental issue to be the cause and booked Byron in for a dental surgery.

Sukie the rabbit - a big day at the clinic for desexing

If you are not planning to breed from your pet, desexing is recommended. It insures a calm temperament and reduces the likelihood of some serious diseases. Male rabbits are usually desexed from 4-6 months of age and since Sukie is 15 weeks old it was the perfect time to come visit us at the clinic. Sukie and his Mum arrived at their appointment in the morning and had a consultation and Dr Alex explained the procedure. Sukie then stayed with us for the morning before his operation.

Flopsy the rabbit is desexed

Many of you have already met Jacqui's dwarf lop ear rabbit Flopsy hopping around the reception desk. She loves to watch the traffic go by in the mornings while relaxing on the couch, followed by a game of chasings with Ned the puppy.

Unfortunately female rabbits have an 80% chance of developing uterine cancer during thier lifetime. So to remove this risk and to increase the chance of Flopsy living to the ripe old age of 9 or 10 she was recently speyed.
