Dr Alexandra Whan BVSc (Hons) - Head Veterinarian

Alex studied Veterinary Science at Melbourne University and graduated in 1998. Alex spent her first years of practice living down in sunny Warrnambool as a dairy cow vet. She settled in North Fitzroy after spending 3 years working and travelling overseas. Alex made the move to
the brand new Brunswick Central Vet Clinic after working at sister clinic Fitzroy Vet Clinic for 3 years. You might see Alex in the local parks with her very ‘energetic' dogs Jasper, Tucker and the new "naughty Ned". Alex and her partner Kat also have two cats Jed and Jemima at home - so it is a very busy little terrace. Alex has an interest in small animal medicine as well as soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery.

Dr Tim Mann BVSc (Hons) - Veterinarian

Tim Mann completed a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery with honours from Murdoch University in 2003. Tim has had a varied start to his career. After one year in general practice, Tim spent two years pursuing his interest in emergency medicine and critical care at an emergency/referral centre in suburban Melbourne. Last year an AusAID placement in Indonesia working with orangutans sparked an interest in development work and Tim has since returned to university to undertake a Masters in International Development. Tim has an interest in emergency medicine in critical care.

Dr. Tim is our regular vet on Thursday afternoons and every second Saturday.

Dr Belinda Willis - Veterinarian

Dr Belinda Willis graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1999. She worked in mixed animal practice in Victoria for just over 4 years before commencing work in small animal practice. During this time she worked with a number of different animal species and developed a special interest in both canine and feline medicine. Her other special interest area is medicine and surgery of rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets. Currently, she is working part-time as a veterinarian and "full time" as a mum to her beautiful daughter Scarlett. In her spare time, she enjoys keeping fit running, along with walking her dog and horse riding.

Katie Robbins CVN - Nursing Manager

Katie Robbins has been a veterinary nurse since 2002. Katie joined the team at Fitzroy in November 2004 before taking on the Nursing Manager position at Brunswick Central Veterinary Clinic in January 2008. Before starting nursing, Katie completed a Bachelor of Applied Animal Science in Aquatic Science at Deakin University, Warrnambool. At home Katie has 2 cats "Rosie" who came from our kitten adoption program and a blue point Siamese called Lily. Lily was abandoned on our doorstep at Fitzroy and Katie was kind enough to give her a new home (really how could she resist!). Her main areas of interest are providing excellence in customer service and clinical rehabilitation of patients after surgery or hospitalisation.

Tania Costelloe - Veterinary Nurse/Cattery Manager

Tania Costelloe joined the team in late 2007 after previously working at our sister clinic in Carlton. In 2008 she commenced her Certificate 2 in vet nursing which she will finish at the end of the year and will then continue on to gaining her Certificate 4. Since working at Brunswick Central she has gained great enjoyment out of taking care of our feline friends who come to holiday in our cattery. This has lead to Tania becoming our cattery manager.
Tania is looking forward to getting a Staffy puppy and broadening her experience in animal care and customer service. Out of work hours, Tania spends time long-boarding, cooking for friends and is currently renovating her house.

Rebecca Williams - Veterinary Nurse

Beccy is the newest addition to the clinic, currently on a working holiday visa from England. Beccy has worked in veterinary practice for the past four years and is a Qualified Animal Nursing Assistant. Back home in the UK, Beccy has two mini Shnauzers called "Koda" and "Yula". As well as three horses, two cats, three cockateils and two rabbits....phew! Beccy will also be running our puppy pre school sessions.
