Charlie's pearly whites!

Charlie is a 9 year old male Maltese x Shih Tzu who was presented to the clinic for a dental check. Charlie's owner had been quite concerned about Charlie's teeth. In the past when she had given Charlie bones to chew on, Charlie would just swallow them without chewing which didn't have much of a benefit on cleaning his teeth! During consultation it was found that Charlie had calculus on his carnassials as well as redness on his gum lines. In order to clean and fix Charlie's teeth and resolve his dental disease, he would need a dental treatment under general anaesthetic to clean and polish his teeth as well as possibly have some extractions.

Daisy's post surgery drama

Daisy is a 6 year old Labrador who was presented to the clinic after her owner had noticed that Daisy had been vomiting and off her food. This is very unusual for a Labrador. Daisy's owner was particularly worried as she had just recovered from a major surgery involving the removal of a foreign object in her intestine. Daisy had also lost some weight since then.

Muppet and Bear Whylie - Double trouble

Muppet, a 2 year old Cavoodle and her brother, Bear Whylie, an 18 week old Poodle cross were both presented to our clinic after they had hunted down and eaten some milk chocolate after Easter. Between them they had consumed about 100g of milk chocolate. Although chocolate is one of our favourite treats, it contains a substance that is toxic to animals. Muppet and Bear Whylie's owners knew that chocolate toxicity was a concern to her dogs so quickly brought them both down to the clinic as soon as they found them with the chocolates.

Leeroy gets his mood back

Leeroy is a sweet 13 week old Puglier who was presented to the clinic after a bout of vomiting in the morning after his breakfast. Dr Zoe examined Leeroy and found that he was depressed and very quiet for a puppy of his age. Dr Zoe could also feel what was likely to be a foreign body in Leeroy's abdomen, which caused Leeroy pain when the area was examined.

Lexia's lame leg

Lexia is a three year old Chihuahua who was presented to our clinic with a lame left hind leg after playing with her sister Shiraz in the park. Lexia's owner noticed that her leg improved throughout the afternoon but was a bit concerned as Lexia hadn't had any lameness issues before. After an examination with Dr Zoe, it was discovered that Lexia had a luxating patella.

Coco and her bladder problem

Coco is a 3 year old Bichon Frise who was presented to our clinic after her worried mum had noticed that she had been straining to urinate and when she did, she was occasionally dripping blood. On examination with Dr Alex, Coco was very sore in her bladder and uncomfortable in the abdomen.

Little Tex takes a fall

Tex is a very sweet 8 week old Shih Tzu puppy who was brought to our clinic because he had fallen from his mother's arms. As a playful and full of beans puppy, it was very easy for Tex to wriggle his way out and without realising he had fallen from a height that his little self just can't handle yet. Tex had yelped at the time of the fall but was full of energy and seemed fine at presentation. Dr Zoe examined Tex and discovered that he was extremely reluctant to put any weight on his right front leg and there was also some bruising around the area.

Sid's rumble in the park

Little Sid is a very adorable French Bulldog who arrived at our clinic after being in a scuffle at the park with another dog. Sid was in a little bit of pain and on closer examination Dr Alex noticed some fight wounds on Sid's abdomen. Surgery was required so Sid was admitted into our hospital ward.

Calypso loses a tooth

Calypso is a lovable Blue Heeler who recently had a misadventure with a car. Unfortunately Calypso has a bad habit of biting car tyres and a few weeks ago tried to do so whilst her owner was driving the car into the garage! Calypso's owners had no idea she was there and this resulted in poor Calypso getting hit in the mouth with a tyre.

Meg 'breaks a leg'

Poor little Meg has had a rough start to puppy life. One morning her devoted owners heard her screaming in pain in the back yard. They rushed outside to find Meg had her leg caught in a piece of garden furniture. After freeing her it was evident Meg would need to come straight into the clinic as she could not put any weight on her left foot.
